APPLICATION FORM
Why should someone become a volunteer? Not only will they have fun doing a good deed, they will also benefit by making a difference in the lives of young men and their families. Who can volunteer with YFCF? Anyone. Our young fathers benefit from men and women who can ensure the fathers become better parents. Teachers, tradesmen, business owners, athletes, professionals, retirees – all are welcome to serve with the organization.
Do I need prior volunteer experience? No. YFCF welcomes both first time volunteers and seasoned community workers. The organization only requires that you have a willingness to serve the needs of young fathers.
A disproportionate number of minority young men are raised without their own fathers and grew up without a positive role model. The mentoring program matches a young father with a caring adult male who will take time to provide direction and guidance.
Young people who have a mentor relate better, achieve more, have greater self-esteem and stay away from the negative influences that confront young people every day. A supervised one-on-one relationship is one of the most effective ways to help a young person in need.
